I'm not a party gurl. I don't frequent clubs and don't drink much, so I don't really hang out in bars. Borrring, right?

Anyway, for those of you who are more into the partying scene, there is a site for you called TGDetroit V1.2.

I know absolutely nothing about the folks behind this site--it appears to be Val Bralt-- but it seems they've organized a weekend of fun and shopping for local trans people. According to their site, they tout themselves as:

"A guide to transgender life in Detroit, the transgender capital of the midwest, including information concerning our 3 X's a year transgatherings we call Detroit TG Invasion."

I love reading that "Detroit [is] the transgender capital of the midwest," although I think trans Chicagoans may disagree.

Their next "Invasion" is being held Oct. 17-20, and it looks like they've put together a full weekend. Among the events included are a "Party bus on TWO nights, Adams Apple Thursday, Pontiac’s best TG bar and Drag Queen bingo on Friday, dinner and Halloween Costume Party on Saturday," a shopping spree at Janet's Closet, and makeovers by makeup artist Raquel Cohen.

The last two offerings caught my attention, and if I didn't have other plans that weekend, I may actually have signed up.

But you can still do so. The organizers have apparently secured a special room rate at the DoubleTree by Hilton Detroit/Dearborn off the Southfield Expressway and a party bus to take participants to the various venues.
