I just noticed that our membership here at MI_Transgender_Friend has hit 175!

Yeah, I know--big deal, right? But to me it is.

I started this sub with low expectations. Even though I thought there was, and is, a glaring lack of communication among our transgender community, I wasn't sure if this sub would attract enough eyes to make it worthwhile to keep it going. In my mind, there are.

Speaking only for myself, I've met and become friends with a number of people that I never would have met if not for this sub. Often, these friendships have led to lunch dates and long, fascinating conversations with some of the most interesting people I've ever met. And I have this sub to thank for that!

Like most new things, this subreddit is constantly evolving. I've tossed out some suggestions of organized activities and possible community involvement that have yet to sprout into anything. And I bemoan the paucity of posts by other members. I don't want to be the only voice heard on this sub, and I'm sure most of you are getting tired of me talking all the time.

Jump in, don't be shy! You are among friends here, whether you know it or not. The trans community here in Michigan is one of the most affirming, welcoming groups imaginable. Tell us about yourself. Share your transition story. Let us know about a place where we could gather as a group and meet.

I hope MI_Transgender_Friend continues to grow in membership. Tell your friends, those who are isolated from others and could benefit from involvement. Share posts from this sub elsewhere and help draw eyes to us. I do so from time-to-time and find that it works and the people who've seen our group, often end up joining us.
