Just a day old, the newly-created MI_Transgender_Friend subreddit is seeking members to help build our community.

The intention behind this group is to provide our state's transgender people, a safe forum to introduce themselves to other trans people, to seek friendships, to promote their businesses, to announce events.

Too many in our community still have to live in the shadows, afraid of publicly coming out, of the abuse they fear they often face on social media. Not at MI_Transgender_Friend. I am the moderator and I solemnly promise to keep out the negativity, the bigots and transphobes. And refreshingly--no sexual solicitation or imagery.

So, please, if you are a transgender person living in Michigan, nearby states or one of our neighbors in Canada, join us!

You have nothing to lose and you just may make some friends!
