Roof mounted bike racks where I can open the boot on an r56?

Anybody using their mini to take their bikes anywhere? I’m considering grabbing a Thule thruride as it seems about the best option for a 15x110 axle.
I was just wondering whether it’s possible to open the boot with a bike rack on the roof? Worst case scenario I just chop some off the back
