Question getting an F56 MINI as a post graduate first car.

Hey guys, I have gotten it into my head that my first car after I graduate will be a MINI, I'm not a huge fan of the looks of the newest gen and don't have anywhere to charge them since I still live in a pretty old apartment and the earlier gen MINI are notoriously unreliable (at least that's what I've heard). I just want hear your guy's opinions on the maintenance costs for an F56 MINI specifically in Canada or other colder weather places and what are your opinions of having it as a first real car in general?
