I have a 2020 mini copper convertible. My top works most of the time but I’ve had two days now where I get Ina bf I get a warning saying the top isn’t locked even though it is and I haven’t messed with it the last couple times I’ve driven.

My dash will display a warning saying the top isn’t locked and beep at me and the warning will stay but the beeping goes away. The switch that opens and closes my top also won’t work while the warning is on my dash until the next time I drive if the warning is gone.

Has anyone had this issue with the same model or older models? Did the issue turn in to the top completely not working?

Is there anything I can get fixed even though the warning only displays sometimes or would it be a waste of time if I brought it in when the warning was gone
