I'm super stoked. My subaru is getting its headgasket repaired then going up for private party sale as I'm in the PNW and that thing will be gobbled up so quickly I couldn't justify trading it in. I've had my eye on this lovely little whip for a couple of months and the price finally dropped to one that was acceptable to me. I put the deposit down today and I pick the car up Friday. It is a CPO with only 18,000 miles on the clock, which is almost brand new considering I've never owned a car with fewer than 40K on it before. It's going to split time between the PNW and Alaska, so I know I need to pump up with some winter tires first thing.
What types of things do I need to know about this new to me ride that I perhaps can't pick up anywhere else except from those of you who currently have or have had one of these in your stable? Are there any maintenance issues that I should keep an eye peeled for? What tips or tricks for the tech should I be looking for? (Remember, I'm coming from a 12 year old subaru with ancient tech inside!). Do you recommend driving this in manual mode all the time -- if so, why or why not? I'm currently borrowing a friend's 98 2.6L Z3 5speed that I've been abusing all over town. I know I'll need to be careful of the 300hp engine. Are there any accessories you have or wish you had that I might consider?
Thanks, y'all! I'm excited to be in the family.
