I'm looking at picking up a 2019 Countryman Cooper (standard version, non-S) as someone is selling one nearby for a great price.

I don't have much experience with cars but I heard that you can have the software optimised to increase horse-power and performance. Has anyone done this with noticeable results?

My current car is a 2015 Cooper D (non S) and when I took this Countryman out for a test spin I was a little underwhelmed comparatively at the acceleration, it felt a little sluggish.

Unfortunately to go for an S my insurance would skyrocket and the price would also be significantly more, so I was wondering if this computer upgrade would be enough to scratch my itch for a little more power.
