Statement by the Treasury The Treasury:

I outline to the House, final Government expenditure figures by Department, for this calendar year. This Statement has behind it, the full support of the electorate, the Government, and the Prime Minister, and will improve our country's standing and economic strength.

Taxation:

• The Abolishment of Passenger Air Duty at a cost of £3bn is expected to improve growth in the long term. It should also enable cheaper travel for families universally.

The Department of Business, Industry, Labour and Energy:

• Two additional Nuclear Power plants will be built for £8bn by EDF. Each will supply 14% of UK energy demands.

• The Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon Project has received approval from the Secretary of State for Business, Industry, Labour and Energy (Matthew Hancock), and has been budgeted at £1bn. It is expected that this will be but the first of many efforts by this Government to shift the UK Energy Sector onto much greater sustainability.

• The Government-owned Nauru International Airport will undergo improvements such as the construction of a second runway and terminal, and the addition of 9K33 Osas in order to protect both airfields. A permanent military presence of fifty will staff the Airport, and shall be named the Royal Nauraun Auxiliary Platoon. These measures will cost £200mn.

• The UK purchased a Fifty percent share in Escondida for a fee of £8.2bn.

The Department for Transport and Infrastructure:

• High Speed 3 (HS3) will begin construction; the project has been allocated £7bn by HM Treasury, to be sourced from the Department of Transport and Infrastructure.*

• Cardiff Airport will be expanded, which, alongside the construction of High Speed 4 (HS4), will alleviate pressure on Heathrow. This will solve our national Airport Crisis.

• The much needed M4 Relief Road will cost £1bn and will relieve congestion in the rapidly growing area of Cardiff and Newport. This issue would only increase without this measure, due to expansions to Cardiff Airport.

The Ministry of Defence:

• The HMS Queen Elizabeth will enter into active service during November. The HMS Prince of Wales will be re-fitted with IO-720-A1B Nuclear Reactors at a cost of £250k: this will delay its entrance into active service by six months, and is hence expected to enter into service in June, 2018.

• In order to staff both carriers, we have taken delivery of fourty Lockheed Martin F-35Cs at a cost of £76mn per unit (£3bn). Another fourty will be purchased at the same cost.

• The Rt. Honourable Michael Fallon sees it fit that the United Kingdom should purchase an additional twenty four Type-45 Destroyers; each will cost £550mn. This move will ensure that each of our Aircraft Carriers are able to always receive an escort of six Destroyers at any one time, whereas an additional twelve remain for additional purposes. Our current six vessels are then able to be deployed on various missions globally - such as counter-piracy operations off the Somali coast. This expansion will cost the Treasury a total figure of £13.2bn.

• In addition to the Queen Elizabeth Class Carriers, the Ministry of Defence is to commission a Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carrier costing £7bn, with construction to be complete in four years. It shall be named the HMS Winston Churchill. A Carrier Air Group of seventy-five will be purchased at a total of £5.7bn. To protect the HMS Winston Churchill, it is felt necessary that we commission twelve Zumwalt-class Destroyers. These impressive vessels shall cost £32bn.

• Four B-2 Spirit Stealth Bombers shall be bought for £2bn, one of which will be stationed on the Falklands Islands, one on Gibraltar, and two aboard the HMS Queen Elizabeth.

Research:

• £2bn has been pledged towards the International Space Station. This signifies Britain's commitment to scientific innovation globally and will provide excellent opportunities to our STEM Sector.

• In an act of co-operation between our Canadain allies, £5bn has been pledged towards developing a Submarine capable of ballistic missile deployment.

• A Medical Research Fund of £5bn has been established to focus on cancer, altimeters and dementia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development:

• £1bn shall be spent on resettling the 20,000 refugees our country has promised to take, with Canada matching this.

• An additional £500mn will be donated to Syria in order to stem the flow of refugees and to stabalise their country. £250mn will each go to Lebanon and Jordan for similar purposes.

• UCAR will receive £850mn in aid as part of out commitment to eradicating African poverty.

• Pakistan will receive £500mn, as will Bangladesh.

• £3bn will be given to the UN to fight TB, AIDS and Malaria.

• Tuvalu will receive £5mn in developmental aid, as they are members of the Commonwealth of Nations.

• Cape Verde will receive £45mn to be used for tackling extreme poverty.

• Zimbabwe will receive £100mn.

Ministry for Interior Affairs:

• £25mn has been spent on procuring anti-terrorist equipment.

Government Administration:

• £3bn has been allocated towards Westminster repairs. This juggernaut of Western democracy will not be allowed to deteriorate any further.

• £150mn will be spent on repairing and preserving Buckingham Palace.

Concluding Statement:

• The Departments of Defence & Research and Business & Energy have under-spent by £160bn. This will be allocated to reducing the national debt to £1.4 trillion.

• The UK has shown extreme commitment to strengthening its Armed Forces, which will enable us to remain at the heart of global discussions, and to fight ever more effectively against humanitarian issues, terrorism and flashpoint conflicts.

• This Government has proved its dedication to growth by strengthening infrastructure and reforming the tax system. This Government is both environmentally and business friendly, as seen by our commitment to nuclear and renewable energy.
