For his final campaign event in the constituency, Randomman44 visited the Nobel School sixth form college in Stevenage to discuss education with local sixth form students, teaching staff, parents, and other general members of the public.

“My friends, I have a confession to make to you. /u/Frost_Walker2017, Labour’s Education Secretary, has unfortunately been actually pretty good at their job, and is actually skilled at delivering educational reform. This is good because if Labour forms a government again next term, delivering educational reform will be high on the agenda, to ensure that our education system works at ensuring good results, good access to high-quality education, and good mental health for every student.

We will abolish fee-paying schools. It is not right that wealthy families can pay for a better standard of education for their children, or that less well-off families are expected to fork out thousands of pounds they don’t have to fund a private education for their students. The Labour Party strongly believes that every single student, regardless of their family income, has the right to solid and good education, which is why we will abolish fee-paying schools.

In addition, we will also abolish academies. Academies take schools outside the control of local education authorities and outside the scope of the national curriculum, instead allowing private interests to influence the education of students. I and the Labour Party oppose this privatisation of the state schooling system, especially as in many areas, academisation has turned successful schools into failing academies. For example, Kinsley primary school in Wakefield was praised by Ofsted for their good education standards; but following academisation, standards at the school dropped so rapidly that it became one of the worst performing academies in England. The Labour Party will thus reverse academisation, and revert academies to local authority control.

To further ensure good academic standards, and to ensure that A-Level and GCSE exams do not put undue stress on students, the Labour Party will lead a wide-scale reform of the examination system. Throughout this reform, we will make sure to consult students, teachers, and people like you, to ensure that the system we build is one that works at accurately assessing the potential of each student without ruining their mental health.

Our other priority will be to ensure that every student is always fed a healthy and nutritional meal, and that all students can always get a meal which conforms to their dietary needs. This is why we will abolish all eligibility criteria for free school breakfasts and lunches, ensuring that no student ever has to go hungry because they cannot afford to pay for food. We will also mandate that all schools must offer vegan, vegetarian, halal, kosher, and gluten-free meals to ensure that all schools cater to the dietary needs of their students.

We will also take salmon off school menus. This is really to ensure your safety, as would you really want to have to fight against a very Buff Salmon? Sorry Ray, but penguins do not get an exemption from this.

Thank you all for coming here today, and remember to vote Labour on Thursday for a compassionate education system! Let’s keep Britain on track!”

Following the speech, Randomman44 visited the college’s gym, where he was photographed lifting weights and doing other gym exercises in front of students. The students were clearly impressed by Buff Salmon’s strength, with one student afterwards saying to a local journalist who attended the event, “Randomman44 sure is very buff and strong. I think he would be a very strong MP for Stevenage, and I will thus cast my vote for him on Thursday.”
