Post Body

Good morning, everybody!

It’s obviously no secret that climate change is one of the biggest threats we face as a species. Though the planet may adapt in the extremely long term, humanity will not, so we must take giant leaps towards a greener future for the sake of our children.

For starters, we’ll be fully nationalising our energy systems. Not only will this help us bring down bills for millions of people, but it’ll give us extra powers to expand and grow the energy network in a safe and green manner, putting people at the heart of it. We’ll phase out fossil fuel power stations and build a base of nuclear energy while levelling up our renewable capacity, by expanding solar, wind, and hydroelectric energy.

As part of this, we’ll offer grants to install energy producers on homes, such as solar panels on the roof. It’ll help people get involved with the fight against climate change, and we’ll be offering competitive rates for the energy transferred to the national system to help lower bills. Our other focus for homes is the banning of new installations of gas boilers by 2030, with new technologies gradually making them obsolete, but it also doubles as another way to achieve energy independence away from Russia.

We’ll be gradually cutting animal related farming subsidies, instead preferring to focus on more sustainable farming, but we recognise the risk this poses to farmers and so we’ll be creating a multi billion pound transition fund to deal with this. Further, as farming obviously relies on water, we’ll be expanding our network of reservoirs to better protect against droughts and heatwaves as we’ve recently experienced. This is possible thanks to our nationalised water system, which we’ll be reorienting to provide greater social and environmental obligations to consumers.

The choice this election is simple. A vote for Labour is a vote to secure the future of our planet. Vote Labour this Wednesday, and help play a part in saving the world.
