Thank you all for taking time out of your day to hear myself give my two cents on the Labour candidate for your constituency of South Wales West for the Welsh Parliament. I encourage you all to go vote for your representatives in the Welsh Parliament, and to keep on fighting for the issues that matter to you most.
I as the Chancellor of the Exchequer will have to oversee, with the recent powers given to Wales regarding Justice, one of the most significant changes to funding your parliament has. I am very happy to give devolved nations their funding as long as they put it to good use, and I fundamentally believe that the Labour policies that Inadorable advocates for are very admirable policies that will be beneficial to all Welsh people.
The funding towards Justice powers shall be put to good use under a Welsh Labour government, as they will ensure that funding goes towards reducing crime and the causes, rather than exacerbating the problem by simplistic policy. Locking up people is not going to solve crime. We need to ensure that they can progress to a better life without crime by training them in skills and rehabilitation. A Welsh Government shall ensure that community policing is encouraged, so that the level of safety in Wales continues, but with added trust by the community in those enforcing the law. I will be very proud as the Chancellor of this nation when the Welsh Labour Government, when you elect them, implements these straight out of the gate.
Welsh Labour shall also improve the minimum wage to 12.5 pounds an hour, which is a significant improvement and ensures that people are not exploited in their jobs. Unlike what other parties may say, evidence shows that increasing the minimum wage does not affect employment all that much, even to a point of it being negligible. A Welsh Labour government shall also facilitate a 14 pound per hour minimum wage for NHS workers, which is most important to respect the work that they do for the better health of people in Wales like yourself, and so that they can focus their energies on that work rather than have to work other side jobs to pay the bills. We need well payed health staff so that the NHS can function optimally, and a Welsh Labour government shall ensure this.
Education is also extremely important to Labour as a whole organisation, and Welsh Labour certainly reflect this through their policy by their commitment to implement wage subsidies for apprenticeships, and lowering tuition fees for students. The first policy encourages vocational jobs, which shall be vital in the future to ensure that those services are not ridiculously expensive. The second policy ensures that lower income households in Wales can spend more of their income on the Welsh economy by allowing their children to go to school at cheaper rates. Easing the burden on lower income households allows for the growth of the economy, and more financial stability overall.
To sum it up, I strongly encourage all of you here to vote for Inadorable as your representative for South Wales West in the Welsh Parliament. She, along with the Labour Party as a whole shall fight for you, and shall ensure your voices are heard in that parliament on a devolved and national level.
