Muffin goes on a bus tour of Barnsley seeing all the sites and stopping to deliver speeches at different places, their first stop is at the Barnsley Interchange
"It is great to be here on my tour of Barnsley today, because I can't call myself a representative of this area if I don't know about the area itself. It would be a disgrace if I represented this area without knowing its rich culture and the people here. I'm starting my bus tour from the logical starting point, the Barnsley Interchange. This is a bus and train station that I believe can be a model for transport interchanges across the UK, given the wide variety of places you can travel from here. In normal circumstances I would stand here and preach about my plans to build a new and wonderful transport infrastructure for Barnsley, however this is a testament to what happens when the same place is loved and cared for as this station has been since 1850. My only plans here would be to ensure that the Interchange is at the forefront of modern technology, as part of a plan to replace the buses with electric or hydrogen powered buses to ensure they are environmentally friendly. I look forward to discovering more of Barnsley today, so join me on my bus for a tour of Barnsley."
Muffin gets on their bus and travels to their next stop, Oakwell Stadium
"Here I am outside of a football club that I see as a great metaphor for the Progressive Workers Party, a club that was saved by the local community in 2002, and is now looking to achieve great heights. This is exactly what the PWP plans to do, to achieve success and reach the summit of British politics, as Barnsley look to reach the Premier League also. It is a project here that is based around a simple economy, with a balanced budget, just like the budget that the PWP worked on mere weeks ago, and plans to deliver again if elected at the upcoming election. We will deliver the people of Barnsley bang for their buck, as we bring a high press to British politics and ensure that nobody in Britain is left behind as we achieve this. To move beyond the football analogies, I want to talk about how we plan to also invest in local football, to ensure that everyone can enjoy the love of the game no matter their background, whilst also ensuring that football clubs across the country remain supported as part of a pyramid that works for all people. If you want to join me on the journey to the top of British politics, then hop aboard the bus through Barnsley"
Muffin gets on their bus as their following grows, and travels to the next stop, Shawlands Primary School
"The next stop here is to a school, which is for a simple reason, to announce the PWP's education policy. The first one of these is to recruit 10,000 new teachers over the next 5 years to ensure that schools are properly staffed to support all students. The next is to move the school start time to 10 am across the country, this has proven to help students be more productive and get more out of school, due to being less exhausted when they get to school in the morning. This will not impact free school meals that have been rolled out recently, ensuring kids get healthy meals at school. We care for creating a generation that has the best chance to succeed, and ensuring that schools are a healthy environment for learning and development. "
Muffin gets on the bus, and sets off to the next location, Barnsley Hospital
"Here we go, I am now outside of Barnsley Hospital, and I don't want to overstay my welcome here, and will keep it brief, to not impact on the needs of the Hospital. So, without further ado, this is a hopsital which stands as a testament to the NHS, having existed as a healthcare facility since 1852. Since then it has been a vital part of the community, and I hope to keep it that, way but ensuring funding is fair, with a fair wage for NHS staff, and a promise to ensure the NHS is never privatised and will always ensure it is always free at the point of service."
Muffin rushes off before any ambulances turn up and drives around the corner to the Grey Horse pub.
"PUBS are a staple part of British culture, and as such will always be a part of that under PWP's plan for the future. It is the reason why we are committed to reintroducing limits on when shops can sell alcohol, to protect the trade that pubs do. Whilst I've got you here, I also want to talk about my plans for workers rights, where we will be bringing in a national living wage of £10.50 to ensure that people are paid a fair wage for fair work and are not exploited by bosses or forced to take multiple jobs to make ends meet. This will be alongside the introduction of a 4-day week which has been proven to increase productivity and keep people happier at work. This is our plan to keep Britain moving, by making work fairer for people, and ending exploitation. Now, come along with me for a final stop of the tour."
Muffin jumps onto the bus with a following crowd as it goes to the final location, Barnsley Town Hall in the town centre
"Thank you everyone for coming along with me on my journey today, as I've discovered Barnsley and talked to people across the town, listening to you about your needs, and hoping to inspire you as to what a Progressive MP will do for you next term. I am here outside town Hall, which under a Progressive government would have much more expanded powers to help the local community, as the PWP recognises the role of the community in government and society. The community knows whats best for itself and thats why they will have the power, with power to councils, but also power and funding towards community policing efforts. A Progressive MP will celebrate Barnsley and its history.
A marching band comes out from behind the bus, with marching music to build drama and spectacle as part of this speech
A Progressive MP will celebrate the history of glass makers, and of the coal industry, as we move to a changed economy where energy jobs will return under a Progressive Government. A Progressive MP will deliver for Barnsley and turn up to represent Barnsley. Make sure that when you vote this week, you put a cross on your ballot next to Muffin5136 to deliver a Progressive MP for Barnsley and for South Yorkshire."
Muffin gets back on the bus along with the marching band and the bus drives off into the distance as Muffin discovers the Peak District
