After spending quite a while on the campaign trail in Leicestershire, PoliticoBailey had decided to go to some different constituencies, check in with some candidates and help them in their campaigns. On this trip, he decided he would head to Scotland and visit a1fie335, who he had worked with for a considerable amount of time, in Lothian and Fife.
Owing to the time it would take to join different candidates on the campaign trail, PoliticoBailey didn’t intend to stay forever in Scotland (as much as he would like to) - but ensured he had enough time to talk with constituents, communities and local activists - they were after all a considerable part of the swathes of people who would be heading out to cast their vote on polling day, and he had to do all that he could do encourage and ensure people that the Liberal Democrats are the party for them.
He decided to take the train into Gorebridge, Midlothian. There was a bit of a walk from the station into a nearby town centre, quiet but with many independent businesses and some shops. PoliticoBailey approached a group of constituents, with a1fie335, looking forward to speaking to them and offering a vision of the United Kingdom under the Liberal Democrats.
“Good afternoon everyone! It’s great to be here with a1fie335 in Lothian and Fife on the campaign trail in this election - it’s good to see such a good turnout today.
Now, I have worked with a1fie335 for a while now, and I’m sure that if Lothian and Fife re-elect him on polling day - that he will continue to serve this constituency with determination, with a strong voice, and with a vision that works for you. From ensuring that everyone is paid a decent minimum wage irregardless of their background or their age and ensuring we have a green environment - a1fie335 will work for you.
We have a strong policy slate going into this campaign, one that I believe will transform your lives for the better - from strong community policies to ensuring that the United Kingdom and all of its parts are represented strongly internationally and on the world stage.
The people of Lothian and Fife deserve representation in Parliament that benefits everyone. I know that a1fie335 will work hard for you, your families, your children, your grandchildren, your friends and that not one voice will be neglected.
The people of Lothian and Fife deserve a Member of Parliament that will speak on key policy issues and on policies that will directly impact the people of this great constituency.
And most of all, the people of Lothian and Fife deserve a Member of Parliament that will strive to make change that benefits them in every aspect - and I know that a1fie335 and the Liberal Democrats will do just that. So, as you go to the polling stations this week, vote for a party and a candidate that will represent you strongly.
Thank you, and let’s get campaigning.”
PoliticoBailey spent an hour or two roaming the streets of the constituency, with many scenic displays and a close community. He may not have represented this area before, but he saw that the Liberal Democrats could offer the vision they needed.
