“Hello folks, it is great to see so many of you here today. As this campaign draws to a close I hope that you have seen the bold and bright vision we have laid out for the country. We will unite Scotland and drive us forward into the new decade. We will focus on the real issues rather than bickering about independence like the SNP. We will allow businesses to prosper and people to live their lives.
We started this election with the Tories in government. During the course of this term we achieved a lot for Scotland. We did what many thought was impossible. Rebalancing the budget and achieving a surplus. We boosted teacher pay. We expanded the mental health fund and reformed Scottish policing. We are proud of our record and we will strive to achieve even more next term.
What will the Tories do for Clyde Valley? For one the River Clyde used to be dotted with shipyards along its riverbanks making mighty ships for the seas. Sadly, as we speak right now many of these old shipyards have gone out of business and displaced thousands of workers. Our plan to reverse that tide is simple. We will cut down red tape on the industry, we will work with Westminster to attract new private investment into Clyde Valley. This will create thousands of new jobs and new revenue for the working class.
Clyde Valley is also home to a beautiful and lush landscape. We will support the protection of such lands with a special fund for the protection of wildlife. We will make sure new projects do not harm the environment or displace people. We will reform the management of the Green Belt. These reforms will empower farmers and drive new opportunities.
“hen it comes to the other parties like the SNP. They offer more endless debate about independence despite the Scottish people’s clear verdict against it. The SNP will seek to nationalise huge chunks of the economy like power. This will cost billions of pounds and they have no plan to pay for it. They will raise income taxes dramatically. They will destroy jobs and leave Scotland worse off.
While the Tories have acted to keep Scotland safer by reforming the police, the SNP will seek to take away funds from the police. This will mean less funds and police officers to combat rising knife crime. Less officers to handle dangerous threats.
This election the clear choice is the Tories! Renew our contract with Scotland.”
