A model-putrid tweet in regards to this event, encouraging people to attend

About 20 people are in attendance.

"My God, it's cold today. Thank you all for braving the weather and coming out here. I've got the heating on, so it should start to warm up in here.

Anyway, hello. I'm model-putrid, your Labour candidate for Cumbria and Lancashire North. Just went on a bit of a poster run earlier today, and let me just say am I glad to be inside. But yeah, those posters, they say "model-putrid - Your Local Voice". And that's not just a slogan that I focus-grouped or whatever, I put that on there as an aim. I want to be your local voice.

That poster, on it, it has a bunch of things that I want done, but I'd like to focus on one. I want to make more homes available for local communities. Had to tamp down the wording for that so it didn't end up on The Sun tomorrow! But this policy is one dear to my heart.

The rapid rate of people buying holiday houses here is killing our communities. As more and more people buy second homes here, it blocks out the housing supply for people who want to live here and makes our communities smaller. Stores close, people move away, and the worst thing is that, well, you have to have a lot of money to buy a holiday house. So house prices start going up, so now it's even harder for residents to buy homes, so more people move away. It's a vicious cycle.

What I want to see done is we introduce regulations that allow council to place a higher tax on second homes, to directly target this cycle and hopefully discourage people from buying so many holiday homes that they clog up the market. That's one of the things I want to see done, and I'll push for it as our local voice.

So, I'd like to open it up to some questions now."

A man raises his hand. "Why should I vote for you and not Solidarity?"

"Look, I have a lot of love and respect for people in Solidarity. I don't have anything bad to say about them, honestly, and I really respect the work they're doing fighting against the LPUK. But judge Labour on our record this election. We have delivered for the British people in government, and if I have the privilege to serve as your local MP, I am going to work to deliver for Cumbria and Lancashire North, and that's why I think you should vote for me."

A young woman raises her hand. "What's Labour going to do to help LGB people?"

"Great question. The Labour Party believes in equality for all, and we will work to roll out government-funded anti-HIV PrEP medication, as well as introduce better education on these issues in schools to tackle homophobia. We will ensure that healthcare services for queer people are covered under the NHS."
