The Libertarian candidate for South Wales Central and Member of the Senedd for Cardiff North, cthulhuiscool2, opened the LPC’s constituency campaign on a cold Monday morning, rallying a canvass in Victoria Park attended by party volunteers and supporters.
“Thank you for braving the cold and joining me here today. We have vital work ahead of us, as the Welsh Parliament receives new and improved powers over policing and justice it is now more important than ever before for a Libertarian government to take the reins and lead our country in a new and all together better direction.”
“The Libertarian Party has always been a party that punches above its weight. We are proud of what we have achieved during our time in office - from reducing the taxes on the hardest working to ensuring owning one’s own home is more affordable than ever before. And, now our party finds itself the leading voice of the right. We are willing and able to meet this challenge and honour our promises to you once more. Today we stand on an ambitious platform of reform and I'm proud of the manifesto we have produced. It is a forward looking and pragmatic manifesto. A blueprint for a better Wales. But if we are to be successful we must win the trust of the Welsh people. I would ask them to judge our record in government and in opposition, our record of delivering upon the promises we have made.”
“In the test of leadership, this Labour-led government has failed. It has been absent and incompetent. And in failing to produce a budget they have taken you for granted and spat in the face of those who placed their trust in them last election. In this they have failed the most basic duty of government and I would urge the people of Wales not to make the same mistake twice. For a complacent government can never bring about the reform Wales needs the most.”
“So let’s take our message of opportunity and aspiration to every corner of our country, let’s reach out to our forgotten communities and share our vision of a better Wales. With your support today and at the ballot box I know we can deliver change for the good. Thank you."
