Watford are playing in the annual FM Cup match against NorthernWomble’s team AFC Wimbledon. This year due to the exciting new development at Plough Lane, the two clubs and the sponsors of the tie Football Manager agreed to host it at Vicarage Road. The game so far has been a standard pre-season affair, with Wimbledon being dominant but few clear cut chances. Most notably a 40 yard lob of the keeper from Joe Piggot going wide, and Anthony Hartigan not completely connecting with an overhead kick from a corner that the Watford Keeper saves. The 10,000 Watford and Wimbledon fans in attendance have been amused at least at one of the last pre-season matches before the new season starts.
At half-time, instead of the usual Watford Hornets cheerleaders, NorthernWomble rushes onto the pitch with his new T-Shirt cannon.
Good Afternoon Vicarage Road,
What an interesting tie so far! Championship Watford vs League 1 AFC Wimbledon. Let’s hope that while the Dons go home, the Hornets can have an exciting season as they try to go back to the Premiership at the first attempt. I certainly know they can do it.
Now I’m here today to do something a little political. One of my best friends Randomman44 is running in the General Election on behalf of the Liberal Democrats and he needs your vote if you are going to have a politician on your side in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
One of the key things Random is running on is Sport. The Liberal Democrats wholeheartedly back the bid for the World Cup 2030 in England. An event that both clubs here today will most likely have players take part in. Can you imagine the excitement of players your academy has brought through into your first team and playing in a world cup final?
I certainly can. And that is why you need to vote for the Liberal Democrats and Randomman44 - he’s the man on your side to make sure that the World Cup happens.
Now I’ve brought along with me a new toy. A T-Shirt cannon. If you are going to vote for the Liberal Democrats in this election, then I want you to make as much noise as you can, and if I spot you. I will shoot over to you one of these fine T-shirts.
NorthernWomble holds up the specially printed Randomman44 T-Shirt.
The crowd goes wild. NorthernWomble spends a good 10 minutes firing many T-Shirts into the crowd before it’s time for the second-half to kick off.
Ok folks, thank you for the amazing support. Make sure you vote Liberal Democrat in the election and we’ll be on your side.
Let’s now enjoy the second half.
Watford make an early push in the second-half for a goal which they get through Troy Deeney. Wimbledon don’t give up though and equalise through a Jack Rudoni screamer from 30 yards out. The game finished 1-1 with both sets of fans satisfied.
