SPVII: Fife and the Forth Valley - troe2339 launches his campaign

Sir troe2339 launched his campaign for a seat in Holyrood again in this upcoming term. He did so doing something new which he had never tried before. Outside Fife Airport a small crowd of supporters had gathered and Troe pulled out a box to stand on so that everyone could see him.

“Welcome here at Fife Airport. I am happy that some of my campaign staff, a few from the press and some supporters were able to join me here for this. I’m not a big fan of heights, I must say, but I believe in trying my boundaries and expanding them by going outside them every once in a while. Therefore, to show the Scottish people how far above and beyond – above being a little too literal here – I have decided to do a tandem skydive for the first time in my life. 

“I must confess I am a bit scared, but I was also scared the first time I made a political speech, or the first time I spoke in Parliament in Westminster, or the first time I spoke in Holyrood, or the first time I made an opening speech for a Bill I had authored. I could drone on, but that’s not what we’re here to see, is it?” 

Some in the crowd shouted “no” and quite a few shook their heads.

“Well then. Just before I do go inside that airfield and do another nerve-wrecking thing for the list I will just say this about my goal for the future of Scotland: 

“Scotland must go above and beyond for its citizens. I want this country to be one of the best places on Earth to live in, quite literally. That’s why I believe in welfare for those in need, I believe in good healthcare to ensure everyone a good and long life, I believe in safety nets to catch someone if they should fall through the cracks and I believe in working towards less inequality that may cause division between Scottish people. “Now, let’s get this campaign started, shall we?”

The crowd of supporters let out a small cheer at this and Troe stepped down from the box to enter the airfield. He then boarded a plane and went up to perform the skydive together with an instructor and another instructor who could film him doing it. He was wearing a “Troe for MSP, Troe for a better Scotland” shirt as he performed the skydive which was filmed and later put on social media.

After the event Troe went to the well-renowned Tipsy Nipper restaurant at Fife Airport to have a drink after the nerve-wrecking skydive and to talk to some of his supporters about the importance of Scottish infrastructure amongst other things.

He was heard saying: “I find it fitting to talk about Scottish infrastructure when standing at an airfield.”
