Mg9500 has launched his reelection campaign this morning which a pledge of experience, integrity and respect for everyone in his community. This notes how he is the last remaining candidate from #SP1 to be standing in the successor seat to that which they won all those terms ago. Determination to improve the conditions of a community is something that is not a quick fix and must therefore be done with the knowledge that you must stick with it through to the end. We have not transformed Lanarkshire, we have not transformed Scotland - not yet anyway.
So with that the campaign began on the upper Clyde, in a nice little rowing boat at the New Lanark UNESCO World heritage site. He even had am ‘i am very smart and very important’ t-shirt on for his guided tour. Very interesting, as early industrial policy is. Anyway that is what politicians are supposed to do correct? Look very interested at something at most tenuously relevant to the campaign trail. Basically the Green group in Lanark proper when leafleting after that at good awonder reception on the doorstep, 4G has recently been extended to the town or so I am told.
William Wallace began his rebellion here and we’ve never understood why the centre of Clydesdale has never marketed this freedom opportunity more. Anyway, we’ll get Visit Scotland onto it (and also protest that the namesake bank is set to vanish - thank you Mr Branson). Wow - the parenthesis there was longer than the main body of the sentence - not often you can say that is it.
So then, the Clydesdale gGreens headed on together down to Biggar to close out the days campaigning with pledges to protect the local court up in Lanark. Mg is resolute in initing that no one should be traveling from Biggar all the way up to Hamilton solely for justice. He also pledged to bring the communities of the region back together and get them connected with democracy once more. Municipal councils established across the region once again - a burgh council for Lanark and perhaps even Biggar.
Only the Greens will stand up for regional Scotland and place everyone back into control of their own government. A new civic future can, must and shall be developed but we need your help too. Not just on this election, laughing at our jokes, chapping some doors that we couldn’t reach but in the months and years and decades of governance that will come after. From Clydesdale to Caithness and Lerwick to Lanark the government cannot build a new civic future alone.
We need you to come with us, to trust us, to participate with us. Then we will achieve the golden future and good life of which we have all dreamed, together. TOGETHER. TOGETHER.
