"Good afternoon. I'm excited to be standing once again as a Labour candidate in South East London. It's been a pleasure being your MP for this past term and I hope you'll entrust me with the job once again. Today I'd like to talk briefly about a couple of key areas of Labour policy.
A key Labour policy this election is the implementation of a Green New Deal. It's critical that we reduce our emissions and establish a new sustainable net zero carbon economy. London is a big contributor to Britain's carbon emissions and there's a lot of work that needs to be done to bring that down. Labour will set a target for all public transport to have net zero emissions by 2030. We're also going to invest in cycling infrastructure, to make it easier and safer to get around London on a bike. With greener more efficient vehicles this will mean a better public transport experience for everyone. Transport is a big contributor to poor air quality in London and a greener transport system will make living in London healthier and more enjoyable for everyone.
Labour has some important strategies to help combat homelessness and improve housing. We'll build 300,000 council homes every year to ensure people have somewhere to live. We'll pass a renters' bill of rights, to make sure renters are living in healthy, high quality homes. Quality housing is a fundamental right which will be high priority for a Labour government.
I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about Labour policy."
