Maroiogog arrives at Woking station promptly at 7am to deliver a short speech to local commuters commuting into London for work.
“Good morning everyone, I am Maroiogog, the Labour Party’s candidate for your constituency. It is a pleasure to be here during this lovely morning to talk to you about some of my parties’ policies. I would like to commence by introducing our plans for public transportation. Our vision for the country is one where most people when faced with the choice of multiple methods of transportation feel that it is more convenient to go by public transport or bicycle rather than drive. In line with our party’s goal to reduce net emissions to 0 by 2030 we plan to overhaul the transport system of this country”
By this time a number of commuters has stopped to listen, mostly wondering who would be so cruel as to inflict political propaganda on them so early in the morning.
“Firstly let me remind you about the recently passed railways bill proposed by the tear gas government. If not repealed it means that by the end of the year we will be going back to the franchising system that has already failed this country once. Since our party actually makes sure to learn from the past one of the first things we would do if elected would be to repeal the act, so that the railways may continue to be our property. But why? Because their expansion requires very big amounts of public investment, and we want to make sure none of it ends up in the bank account of executives and shareholders. Where reopening or building railways is deemed too expensive we plan on rolling out a new intercity joint network, that will primarily focus on serving communities and routes with no other form of transport. For shorter journeys, for example your journey from the station to your workplace, we plan on fund the construction of cycle highways that run within cities. However, that is not the only idea we have to support urban mobility. We will form Municipal cooperative bus companies so that local authorities can plan and run their bus services freely for the good of their communities. I order to keep cars away from town centers we want to encourage pedestrianizing them.
As you can gather our vision for the future of transportation in this country is very bold, and different from other parties running in this constituency. They put lowering taxes ahead of lowering emissions, as testified by their proposals to remove congestion charges and lower investment in railroads.
In short, vote Labour and we’ll make sure your commute is greener and quicker, now excuse me but it’s early in the morning for me too and I need coffee.
Maroiogog is then seen rushing to the nearest Costa, then boarding a train bound for London where he continues to discuss Labour’s manifesto with the commuters.
