/u/TheAudibleAsh visited Royal Preston hospital in Lancashire today and gave a speech about mental health. Hello everyone, it’s great to be here at the Royal Preston Hospital, the place where thousands of you all across Lancashire go to get healthcare.

This hospital was opened in 1983 and is a great example of how great the British Health System is. The Conservatives want to develop this healthcare system - which is amongst the world elite of healthcare. The next step in a strong health system is a strong mental health system.

Mental health has for too long been treated as a second-class citizen in the health world. Recent steps have advanced these, and the Tories will advance these as well.

Our Plan for mental health is formed of two parts. Firstly, we will introduce mental health screenings in schools. This will allow young people to have constant check-ups on mental health. This is crucial because schools often have many factors that could lead to bad mental health: bullying and exam stress, to name a couple. Secondly, we will research into the causes of low mental health in young people. This will allow us to more adequately provide these mental health check-ups and ensure they’re tailored to the needs of our youth.

Other policies we have, such as increasing focus on health in schools and introducing reforms to our exam system to reduce stress will help this too.

So join me today in the fight for positive mental health amongst our young. Vote Conservative tomorrow at the polls. Vote for positive moderate change.
