This afternoon Liberal Democrat candidate Orange38 has been meeting with campaigners and voters on the doorstep in an effort to drum up some last-minute support for his campaign. He had to following to say to campaigners after having knocked on the final door:
Thank you everyone so much for the work you've done this evening and all other days on the campaign, it's been truly remarkable. There's still a little more time to go and I hope to see you at Gunnersbury Park tonight.
My campaign has been focused on both the national and the local picture, unlike my opponent who has chosen to focus (and understandably so) solely on the local picture. I hope this will be successful in capturing the imaginations of West Londoners, who can see how local and national politics are deeply linked and connected. They influence each enormously, and no MP can truly represent their constituents without getting involved in national politics to represent their constituents in all areas.
If successful I hope to quickly get to work on the policies I've promised in this campaign: stopping Brexit, environmental action, education reform, and democratic/constitutional reform of national, regional, and local politics. If this can be achieved I believe the future will be better for the people of the United Kingdom and better for the people of West London.
Once more, thank you very much for the fantastic work you've done. Good evening!
