The Libertarian candidate arrived via campaign bus after a morning visiting Smailholm to continue the campaign at North Berwick. He joined supporters in delivering constituency ‘postcards’ and canvassing about the town. The candidate also enjoyed the tourist attractions and built a large Libertarian emblem of sand on the beach, before eating fresh lobster at the local’s favorite: The Lobster Shack. Speaking on social media, the candidate described the town as a ‘jewel of East Lothian’.

”This isn't actually my first time in North Berwick. I came here many times as a young adult with my family and it's still as beautiful as I remember it. I would, if I could, spend the rest of the campaign here. In a place with a connection to my youth, allow me to explain my party's position on education; an issue I know is as important as any other.”

”The core principle of my approach to education is simple, liberalise education and give more decision making to head teachers and schools; because a head teacher can make more informed and pragmatic decisions than politicians in Holyrood. I pledge to remove the requirement for hour long learning slots and advocate more flexible subject-based learning. I will vote to give schools more autonomy, and allow parents more power in choosing learning environments for their children; whether that's learning from home. Not every child is the same, which is why a flexible education system is a good education system.”

"I also see the clear merit of grammar and technical schools, which improve social mobility and improve the opportunities afforded to all Scottish children. Regardless of wealth or background. If elected as your representative I will vote in favour of reintroducing and expanding both To this end, I will also vote to maintain the charitable status of private schools. Private schooling adds to the Scottish education system, not undermining it."

"I also support schools teaching more and more 'employability' studies, skills which are necessary in working life. Whether that's first aid training or how to set up a small business, there are clear advantages to teaching skills which may become invaluable in later life. I certainly wish I was thought a similar syllabus as a child."
