The Libertarian campaign was back in Dumfries to unveil a new billboard. Local candidate /u/cthulhuiscool2 visited the constituency party office to motivate party supporters phone canvassing and directing the campaign. Thousands of ‘postcards’ were being printed and posted to addresses across The Borders.
/u/cthulhuiscool2 was directed towards an unused laptop and handed a script
cthulhuiscool2: Hello, can I speak to Emilia please?
Emilia: Speaking. Who is this?
cthulhuiscool2: Hello Emilia. This is cthulhuiscool2, I’m actually the Libertarian candidate standing in the upcoming election for the Scottish Parliament. I’m calling to find out your views on my party’s priorities this election. Which of the following do you think are the two most important priorities for the government? ‘Strong economy’, ‘healthcare’, ‘housing’, ‘education’ and ‘policing’.
Emilia: I’m going to have to say a strong economy and education.
cthulhuiscool2: A strong economy is important to us too. We want to make Scotland an attractive place to live, work and do business. That’s why we’ve promised to keep Scotland the lowest taxed area of the United Kingdom and roll back the needless spending of the past. We see the need for sustainable and sensible spending, which is why we are committed to a balanced budget whilst abolishing the nonsensical National Wealth Fund. The truth is, the Green party and their Labour goons can’t be trusted with the keys to the Scottish economy.
I also care about education in Scotland, it's the great equaliser and so important in improving the opportunities of the next generation. Our programme of reforms will improve our schools by giving head teachers and staff more control, because teachers know how to deliver excellent education far better than the politicians in Holyrood. We want to see the reintroduction of grammar schools and abolish the requirement for hour-long lessons, because a good education system is flexible. Can I ask you Emilia, what party are you planning to vote for this week?
Emilia: I'm still undecided but am leaning towards Libertarian. My husband voted Libertarian last election. I don’t usually vote but will this year.
cthulhuiscool2: That’s great, I hope I’ve been able to tip you in favour of backing me and my party this time. If you or your husband would like to show your support for my campaign I can send you a placard for your home or invite you to help deliver leaflets in your local area. Thank you and have a great evening.
