Liberal Democrat candidates and activists showed up at the Grange to watch the ODI between Scotland and England, and take the opportunity to talk to the press pack about Lib Dem hopes in Holyrood:
It's great to be here at the Grange watching the cricket. Ireland of course secured test status last year, so who says that some day Scotland can't do the same thing? The only thing stopping us is the weather!
As for the Scottish Lib Dems in Holyrood, we are all running hard campaigns with innovative policies, and I think that'll lead to us retaining our two seats. It's been a tough term, what with one thing or another, and as a small party it's often difficult to keep so many plates spinning at once.
But let me tell you - two seats out of 19 in Holyrood is a significant influence. We've seen how good a job that Liberal Democrats in Westminster are doing in opposition with a similar percentage of seats.
We have an innovative programme for Scotland. We have some real ideas, and this new Scottish Lib Dem team has the enthusiasm to match. The people of Scotland will not regret giving us their votes.
Now, after 5 days of solid campaigning I'll be relaxing a bit and chatting with the fans here in Edinburgh - tonight I will be off to the highlands again!
