Troels Holds Campaign Rally In Stoke-on-Trent
Troels arrives at Burslem Park in Stoke-on-Trent for a campaign rally. A large crowd is gathered in the park to listen to his speech.
On his way to the stage, Troels shakes a lot of hands and stops to talk to and personally thank several of the local supporters who helped set up the speech.
As Troels reaches the stage, which features two big Union Jacks on either side of the podium, the national anthem is played and Troels, as reported earlier, sings along wholeheartedly.
"Good evening everyone, and thank you for showing up in such big numbers today. It's a great honour for me to meet so many of the citizens in this wonderful constituency."
Crowd cheers.
"Tonight there is one thing I'd particularly like to talk about, and that is foregin policy and defence. It has probably not only been on my mind lately but on everyone's mind. With increasing threats on democracies around the world we must stand our ground and protect what we believe in: Democracy!"
"Time and time again we see headlines in the newspapers and on television about dictators who show off their muscles in a terrible display of tyranny and oppression. Just the other day we saw Kim Jung-Un clearly showing his opinion on western democracies such as our own by firing missiles right over Japan. This is unacceptable. Men such as him shouldn't be allowed to threaten our democracy, and yet he does. However, this should not scare the British public, and with the right government it won't. That government is one lead by the Conservative Party, which has time and time again proven its commitment to protecting our democracy and strengthening our military defences."
Crowd cheers.
"The United Kingdom has been at the forefront of democracy since the signing of Magna Carta in 1215 which is more than 800 years ago. And now, more than ever, it is our duty to protect the democracy that we have build through centuries of hard work. But we mustn't only protect the democracy in our own country; together with other western democracies we must help each other to defend the values which we have chosen to build our society on. We must stand together against the threat of countries like North Korea, where one dictatorial leader controls the entire state and will not receive criticism. A leader, who kills whomever he pleases and has shut down an entire country, which in the past has lead to the death of thousands, if not millions, due to a famine. Such men will not threaten our democracy or any western democracy when we stand together to fight for it."
Crowd cheers.
"One way we can protect our democracy is through Her Majesty's Armed Forces. Although diplomacy is the first line of action and the best way to solve international conflicts, it unfortunately doesn't work, if we don't have a military to back up our guarantees and standpoints. Together with NATO, we form a pact which has agreed to aid each other in times of need, and we have committed to spending 2% of our GDP on our defence, a promise which we intend to keep. We must protect ourselves and our allies!"
Crowd cheers.
"Before I leave you on this fine evening I would just like to say a thank you: Thank you to any and all current or former members of Her Majesty's Armed Forces. You protect our freedom, our rights and our democracy. We all thank you deeply. And thank you to any close relative of a service member, because you stand by their side and give them strength to carry out their task. Thank you!"
Crowd cheers.
"We will not waver! We will not admit defeat to threats against our way of life! We will not give in! We will not give up democracy! We will however remain calm and carry on!"
Crowd cheers.
"This is the British way. This is how we've always done it. And this is how we will continue to live our lives."
"God save the Queen. Good night!"
Crowd cheers as Troels walks off the stage and into the campaign bus.
