ARichTeaBiscuit launched their re-election campaign in Preston, with the longstanding politician speaking
"Hello there,
I have been involved in politics for a considerable time now, however, I still feel a fantastic buzz of joy in moments like this when I can truly connect with the people and outline concrete policies that I trust will truly improve this country, of course, I like to add my own personal rhetoric to the mix and flavour things up with my own personal anecdotes but I know that the average person tends to prefer folks that get down to the basics so I shall try and do that today.
Just within the past few days I understand that we've seen several fierce discussions around the state of our social safety net and the pound in your pocket, now, thanks to Solidarity we have a truly universal system of universal basic income and this combined with other measures we implemented in the budget means that people are now at least 750 pounds a year better off thanks to Solidarity.
It's great isn't it? You'd think that everyone would be positively overjoyed that our new system of UBI will help ensure that poverty is a thing of the past, however, those in the Liberal Democrats are seemingly enraged at the mere existence of UBI and not only have they promised to scrap this policy but the alternative they've proposed would punch a £7,000 hole in your pocket! I don't think you have to be an economist to know that will have a massive negative impact on the lifestyle of the average family and lead to a crippling crash of consumer activity that we haven't seen since the financial crisis nearly twenty years ago.
Solidarity simply will not let the Liberal Democrats undo the progress that we have made, and plunge millions of households across the country into poverty but we'll go further and implement a localised version of the Meidner plan granting workers the ability to purchase stakes of the company that they work for
It is an incredible liberating policy that will transform communities across the country, as under our plan the profit generated in industries across the country won't be sequestered away and added to a billionaires hoard but spread amongst the workers, so now you know that you aren't working to buy a billionaire another private jet but more money in your pocket, actual investment in your workplace or even a new park for your local community.
I honestly cannot emphasise enough how transformational this policy would be, and I am looking forward to being able to implement this scheme in the next term, although, I feel that I should add that Solidarity recognise the plight of pensioners or those that choose to stay unemployed to fill a care role, as I myself took on the role of a carer to look after an elderly relative and pre-UBI it was quite a rough few months.
Solidarity not only recognise this point but we have got a rather simple solution and that is to create an additional £250 supplement to ensure that those in these difficult situations aren't trapped in poverty or forced to work unhealthy hours while juggling enormous social responsibility.
If the Liberal Democrats were to form government then not only wouldn't this additional supplement exist but those in these conditions would be 7,000 pounds worse off! I personally cannot stand for such cruelty, however, to ensure that the pound in your pocket is safe we need to return a strong delegation of Solidarity MPs to Westminster.
Let's send a strong message in favour of UBI and against the forces of poverty by voting Solidarity!"
