“While I had respect for the Conservative Party under the leadership of former leaders Sephronar and Model-Willem, what we see at this election is nothing short of a rabble. Chaotic, unstable, and concerningly extreme. Through policies such as reestablishing the national draft and embracing immigration positions that contravene international law, it is easy to see why the Conservatives have moved towards the fringe of ideology and political relevance, and why our nation needs a real, renewed alternative from the political centre. Service to our nation is extremely admirable, it is through this dedication that our freedom and way of life may be preserved so we truly value the contributions of our armed services and take their service with the utmost respect. However, the act of forcing everyday people into the armed forces is simply absurd. It causes a huge dislocation to our society and economy. The career, academic and social developments of our young adults effectively traded off and put on hold, missing crucial time in education, work or personal development. Not to mention the suggestion put forward by the Conservatives fails to understand what makes our Armed forces some of the best in the world. The United Kingdom has a great level of technological advancement and capabilities, whereby we place quality over quantity. The vague suggestions by the Conservatives fail to capitalise on the huge potential in advancing our armed forces further and instead priorities simple-minded knee jerk responses. This tendency for the Conservatives to resort to knee jerk behaviour comes as no surprise. It is not a wonder that in all recent polling, voters are flocking away from the Conservatives, and why we have seen an incredible resurgence in support for the Liberal Democrats. Going from around less than 5% this time last year to over 17% whereas the Conservatives have dwindled from their highs last year and stagnated in polling, with the regular dips. Current projections are showing that Liberal Democrats are the only viable option as an alternative to the status quo, and to stop the reactionary extremism arising from the Tories, only the Liberal Democrats can win here!”
