Wanting to get into Rise -- how do I make the controls feel more like World?

To preface, my first MH was World on PS4/PC. I tried playing Rise for a couple hours but the controls and the inventory/gesture bars seem excessive (compared to World) and I often find myself doing the wrong things in battle. I've been told Rise is like a return to classic MH in terms of mechanics and mostly everything but the overwhelming menus/inventory and moves are putting me off from spending more hours on it.

Any tips on how to change settings to be more World-like? For those coming from World, how did you ease yourself into Rise gameplay-wise?
