TLDR: what is the best weapon to really learn how to hunt.

Rise is my first MH game and I have only played with the Insect Glaive. However, I feel like I’m not really learning the fundamentals of a hunt - like positioning - with this weapon. Most of the time, I’m in the air and the monster is doing his thing attacking my palicos or something. I feel like I have very little interaction with the monsters. I just jump in the air or dodge the attacks and slaughter the monstet. It feels a bit too easy.

So, I would like to know what weapon(s) would be more suitable to learn how to hunt properly. I was tinking about the Longsword or Greatsword as they require good timing and positioning respectively.
