LM046 - Motion to Condemn Massacres Committed in the "Troubles"

This house recognises that:

1. During the course of the “Troubles” both sides of the conflict faced hardship.
2. Human rights abuses by either side cannot be tolerated.
3. To reconcile Northern Ireland, It is necessary to condemn such actions.

Therefore this house urges that:

1. The Government condemns all massacres committed in the troubles.
2. This Government condemns the UVF, the UDA, the IRA and the RIRA and all splinter and affiliated groups.
3. This Government takes action against those groups operating once again in Northern Ireland.

This motion was submitted by The Rt. Hon. Lord of Armagh as a private member’s motion.
