Weekly Update 2024 #7 - 18th February

Welcome back to the weekly update - the Lord Speaker's way of providing a good weekly record/archive of everything that happens in MHoL - as well as noting community achievements amongst our Peers! Weekly Record:

Monday 12th February

• The Results for the Local Transport Bill were posted, it passed so was sent for Royal Assent.
• The Assault on Emergency Workers (Offences) (Repeal) Bill went to its Second Reading for the first time in the Lords!
• The Cornwall (Repeal) Bill - Motion To Recommit division was posted.

Tuesday 13th February

• The Results for the Cornwall (Repeal) Bill - Motion To Recommit were posted, it failed so the Bill's Final Division progressed as planned.

Wednesday 14th February

• The Budget (February 2024) went to Royal Assent! Le Roy remercie ses bons sujets, accepte leur benevolence, et ainsi le veult!
• The Results for the Cornwall (Repeal) Bill were posted, it passed and was sent to Royal Assent.
• The Lords Committee on Devolution and Reservation published their Summary of Findings!

Thursday 15th February

• No new business was posted :(

Friday 16th February

• The Prorogation of Parliament - February 2024 - was announced! Parliament was prorogued at 22:00 GMT.

Saturday 17th February

• No new business was posted :(

Sunday 18th February

• No new business was posted :(

General Information:

• If you wish to form a committee regarding any particular issue, please Modmail this in too at r/MHOL
• The next Activity Review (30% voting turnout requirement to remain a Peer), and the next Working Peer allocation will take place on Friday the 29th of March.
