Due to my upcoming A-Level exams I no longer have the time to fulfil the role of Scottish Labour leader and thus I have chosen to resign.
Scottish Labour deputy leader u/Muffin5136 was the only candidate to stand in the election to succeed me and he was thus subject to a vote of confidence of Labour party members, which he passed unanimously, meaning he is the new leader of Scottish Labour.
Through the roles of Scottish Labour leader and Scottish Progressives co-leader, I have served in Scottish party leadership for over a year now in total and, with Scottish Labour gaining the spot of the largest opposition party in the latest polls, I believe now is therefore a good time to hand over the reigns of leadership to my good friend Muffin, who I have no doubt will excel at his new role.
