A poll for BBC News Northern Ireland asked 1001 Electors the following question on the 15th of April 2020:
At the next Northern Ireland Assembly General Election, which party will you vote for with your 1st preference vote?
The polling has a 3% margin of error.
Labour Party in Northern Ireland: 30.66% ( 3.14%)
Ulster Unionist Party: 24.45% ( 0.89%)
Irish Parliamentary Party: 14.45% ( 0.05%)
Alliance Party of Northern Ireland: 10.86% (-1.18%)
Social Democratic and Labour Party: 9.43% (-0.37%)
Ecological Party: 5.53% ( 0.43%)
Democratic Unionist Party: 1.52% (-1.70%)
Saor Ó Chaipitleachais: 1.15% ( 0.05%)
Irish Libertarian Party: 1.09% ( 0.15%)
Páirtà na nOibrithe: 0.73% (New entry)
Explanations
Phenomenal activity from Labour, well deserved gains this week.
Good work from UUP and the Green Party, most weeks would see a higher gain, but Labour preventing that here.
Good work by the SDLP, important to get activity up to stop a sustained fall in the coming weeks.
Some small movement in the minor parties, with Páirtà na nOibrithe joining the field.
