A poll for BBC News Northern Ireland asked 1001 Electors the following question on the 12th of February 2020:
At the next Northern Ireland Assembly General Election, which party will you vote for with your 1st preference vote?
The polling has a 3% margin of error.
Ulster Unionist Party: 29.24% (-1.26%)
Alliance Party of Northern Ireland: 21.88% (-2.78%)
Labour Party in Northern Ireland: 19.50% ( 0.59%)
Irish Parliamentary Party (including RNI): 13.39% (-1.98%)
Democratic Unionist Party: 12.58% ( 1.38%)
Saor Ó Chaipitleachais: 1.34% (New entry)
/u/SoSaturnistic: 1.15% (New entry)
Irish Libertarian Party: 0.81%% ( 0.11%)
Explanations
UUP and Alliance both underachieving in activity based off current polling. More activity needed to stem the losses
Good activity from LPNI and DUP, nice spread of members from both.
Extremely low activity from IPP, big improvement needed if they are to maintain/gain, especially with growing smaller parties.
Saor Ó Chapitleachas and ILP both benefiting from being smaller, however both will find it difficult to grow without more activity and members.
Great activity from our new independent, /u/SoSaturnistic , keep up the good work!
The lack of submitted legislation is something all parties should look at, as its a great way to influence voters and polling.
