I have been elected as the new deputy leader of the Labour Party, succeeding /u/BeppeSignFury in the role. I would like to thank /u/BeppeSignFury for his service to the party, and would like to thank party members for putting their trust in me to serve as their next deputy leader.
I am excited to work together with the party’s new leader /u/model-kurimizumi and the party’s new chair /u/Yimir_ as we enter the upcoming general election, having successfully led the nation for the past 5 months under the leaderships of /u/Frost_Walker2017, /u/Chi0121 and now /u/model-kurimizumi.
We have proved ourselves in government, having delivered action to crack down on knife crime, delivered investments into our railway infrastructure in the West Midlands through the expansion of the West Midlands Metro and in the South West through HS4, delivered reforms to OFSTED to ensure effective inspections of our schools, and having introduced legislation overhauling our energy industry to ensure that future energy bills are low and for green energy. I look forward to working further towards building a fairer nation in my new role.
