II. An Interview with SomeBritishDude
Post Body

Following my discussion with BuffSalmon I sat down with SomeBritishDude aka. Finn

Horses: Hello and welcome, Finn, SBD, long standing Labour member and former powerhouse of the PUP/PPUK/PWP could you start by telling us a little bit more about yourself?

Finn: Well, first off my name is Finn, I'm a transgender woman and I was born and raised in the Black Country. I'm a democratic socialist, a social libertarian and a Methodist Christian. I'm a member of the Labour NEC in a sort of officially unofficial capacity as I don't have a particular position, but I was instated as part of the Labour-PWP merger agreement and I was the only member of the PWP leadership who wasn't in Labour leadership or the NEC by default of the merger. I'm also a member of the House of Lords under the title of Baroness Willenhall having been an MP for much of the last 3 years, including of my home constituency in the Black Country, though I lost that seat in the last election and I seem to have taken on the role of a perennial leadership candidate.

Horses: Great, so fairly simply Finn why are you still in labour?

Finn: I've always been a Labourite at heart. I was forged in Labour and it's where I feel I belong. The PWP was good fun, it was almost like a baby to me and I am incredibly proud of everything that was achieved by the PWP. No one gave us a prayer when we formed and we ended up in all three devolved governments and in Westminster in the Rose II government and winning multiple constituencies in general elections. Not every breakaway party can say that.

As for why I'm still here, it's simply because it's the best place for me right now. Solidarity has never appealed to me, I don't get on with many of their current members, nor, let's face it, would they let me in, with my strong and public views on the union and the monarchy. Other parties like the Lib Dems and Tories have never really appealed to me either and I feel I would just end up back in Labour after a while, the Pirates are too close to Solidarity for my liking and I don't want to be part of another minor party like Unity. For all aspects, whether that's politics or socialising, Labour is just the place to be for me and I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be.

Horses: and how do you feel GROKOs going?

Finn: I think it's going really well. I was a big supporter of it during negotiations and I have to say it's been a remarkable success thus far. Seph and Blue have been very nice and accommodating and the rest of the Tories have been a pleasure to work with and I hope we can continue to work constructively through the rest of this government and into the future.

Horses: Amazing, and do you have any plans for the future? Any legislative projects in the works / any policy focus that you’re excited about?

Finn: I'm mostly focusing on government work right now - there are big plans in the works and I hope to have them in the docket before too long.

Horses: Great so that’s all I have question wise, any closing remarks about the party / your work etc? Thank you for featuring

Finn: Not particularly. Just want to remind folks to stay safe, keep fighting the good fight, Trans Rights are Human Rights, Live Long and Prosper, and God Save the King.

Horses: Thank you

Finn: Oh and Slava Ukraini
