Electoral Strategy
Post Body

So I have been in talks with Pada(The Speaker) and he has told me that

  1. We will not be granted party status before the General Election.

  2. Independent Groupings cannot submit candidate lists.

While I understand rule why number one has to be implemented, I loathe number two. So let me explain exactly what this means. Basically we wont be a party because they want to see how much activity we will maintain in a month. Which is fair, they dont want to go around granting party status to every single group of 10 people. However, number 2 is just stupid. I dont blame the speakership, because it makes sense, but it just hurts the Indy Groupings. So what does it mean, it means votes are not transferred from one candidate once they win to the next. So we should not field multiple candidates in one constituency because they will compete for votes. However, I have been informed that the electoral rules are changing for Indy Groupings, I havent read the new rules but we should plan that they will not be implemented.

So, the problem is we need to maximize our vote concentration and seats, so we shouldn't spread out too far. This means we will probably get a small amount of seats, perhaps like 3 or 4 if we can do this correctly.
