Motion to Reinstate the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations
This House Recognises:
(1) On 9 January 2022, The Road Vehicles Lighting (Amendment) Regulations 2022 were laid before the House of Commons, to take effect on 24 May 2022.
(2) On 8 March 2022, The Road Vehicles Lighting (Amendment) Regulations Repeal 2022, were laid before the House of Commons, to take effect on 20 March 2022, repealing the first set of Regulations.
(3) The Road Vehicles Lighting (Amendment) Regulations 2022 were a common sense set of regulations to improve vehicle safety and prevent dangerous driver blindness.
This House Therefore Urges that:
(1) The Road Vehicles Lighting (Amendment) Regulations 2022 are reinstated, using this helpfully written template.
This Motion was written by The Rt Hon Marquess of Stevenage, u/Muffin5136, KT KP KD KCMG KBE CVO CT PC on behalf of the Muffin Raving Loony Party
Speaker,
It rather poetic that the failure of the Coinflip Government has two legacies, with one being the situation with the disgraced former Foreign Secretary and the other being their appointment of a Minister for Repealing Rose Legislation. The second of these did very little in their role in the end, but did manage to repeal these common sense Regulations, showing once again what happens and the failure that ensues when a Government is decided by a coin flip, rather than the wheel of wonder.
I urge the House to back this motion, and I urge the Government to reinstate these regulations.
Debate on this motion will end on the 25th at 10PM
