The nominations period for this Commons Speaker election has now closed.
This Q&A session will last until the 20th of May at 10pm. Anyone can ask as many questions as they like, but please do be considerate.
There were five manifestos submitted by the deadline, however one candidate was rejected during the vetting process and so shall not be on the ballot (I will go into more details below in a second) the other 4 manifestos I have put below.
I made a copy of each of the manifestos which were on google documents and linked to those here to avoid any editing from this point onward.
Now the candidate who was rejected was Shane, as I'm sure many of you have put together, I want to stress it was not an easy decision and in the end I was divided enough over it that I asked /u/Timanfya for his opinion on it.
However the constitution does stipulate that candidates must have been active for over 2 months and Shane has not been active since quitting I can't even remember when but a significant length of time ago and rejoining just the other week, so due to this he is not eligible to stand for Commons Speaker.
I have already informed him prior to this post going up and I'd like to thank him for answering my questions the other day both quickly and thoroughly and for taking this in stride.
