Does anyone else find it strange that global trade seems to always start in China?

I know the requirements are to have the most valuable trade node in the world and that happens to usually be in China. I think the point of global trade is to represent the European colonial empires, which at this point, though functional aren't very refined in the mod.

This would be a minor inconvenience but it is locking me out of starting the manufactories institution since global trade is a requirement, and I am playing in Europe.

I am planning to conquer my way to China to get global trade but this seems tedious. Does anyone know where I can edit the requirements for manufactories and for future change the global trade requirements to be more realistic?

Thanks.
