MDMA crystal gone hard?

So, I had some MDMA crystals on me which me and my friends went through towards the end of July. Few days ago while emptying my bag I saw a decent sized crystal just laying about in my laptop bag. I saw it and it looked like a real deal so me and my friend planned to consume it. But surprisingly it was extremely hard and almost indestructible. We could not powder it even with brute force. Can mdma go bad/ rock hard with oxidation for example? If yes, is there a way to consume it? How can I be sure if it’s actually MDMA? Thanks in advance
