Taking L-tryptophan instead of 5-htp for serotonin recovery after a roll?

I rolled yesterday and had a bad comedown and can feel my serotonin is depleted. I know that 5-htp is usuallky recommended to take after a roll to replenish the serotonin, however I only have L-tryptophan right now.
Is it okay to take L-tryptophan instead of 5-htp for serotonin recovery?
