Prescribed sertraline NOT for mood, planned roll a month today, any advice?

Okay, so me and my friends roll once a year, at this outdoor festival type event and always have an absolutely amazing time, we all look forwards to it every year.

It is all of our last years at university before we go off to different parts of the country and begin our ‘adult’ lives.

Today I was prescribed sertraline for a functional GI disorder which makes me feel nauseous all the time - and the specialist was wondering if a trial of sertraline would maybe help (after reading around the evidence isn’t amazing for this indication).

My predicament lies in, this event is 1 month away today and I realllyyyy want to roll with everyone for potentially my last ever roll.

Is it worth even starting the sertraline? Should I wait a month? Should I just tell my pharmacist (who’s going to check up on me in 2 weeks) that i’ve been taking it so she doesn’t ask why and then begin it a few days after my roll.

I see people mentioning not to stop ssris “as their mood is already affected by dodgy amounts of serotonin” but my situation is rather unique and isn’t indicated due to mood.

Any advice?
