I’ve recently started taking sertraline (50mg) daily to help with some mental health issues and I am just asking to see how long I should stop taking my meds before it’s safe enough to take MDMA and not be at risk of serotonin syndrome?
At least 3 months, but the danger isn’t serotonin syndrome, it’s that the MDMA won’t even work well enough to be worth taking.
Your serotonin reuptake transporters are significantly down regulated from SSRIs. Meaning that SSRIs directly counteract how MDMA works and in most cases makes it impossible to roll. In this study they found that even after taking a 60 month break from SSRIs there was still a significant reduction in the effects from MDMA.

Yeah that’s what the science shows. Even 2 months still had a significant amount of down regulation blunting MDMA. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00213-020-05710-w
