Atypical biochemical processes after MDMA consumption

Post Body

Hey guys, can anybody explain to me what is happening to me when I take MDMA. I am an experienced MDMA (drugs in general) user and practice harm reduction as much as possible. So serotonine depletion due to overuse is out of the picture here. However, the past experiences for me taking MDMA have always been negative. When I take it, I fall into a state of lethargy and depression. At the same time, the effects are taking place cognitively and physically. But there is no love, no energy just an incredibly uncomfortable feeling. I can sometimes reverse that effect by lying down closing my eyes and trying to sleep. When it works I sort of fall asleep and dream for a bit, kind of like when you fall asleep and you're getting these visions in your minds eye, without being quite asleep yet. There is for sure a connection between melatonine and serotonine as the latter gets metabolised into the former, if I am not completely mistaken. But I would love to hear from someone who maybe knows what is happening in these situations.
