Does safrole-based MDMA still exist?

Post Body

I know people are going to jump on this and say “MDMA is MDMA”, which is true to a degree, but I want to specify something most folks don’t consider; if you’re familiar with ketamine, you know about R and S isomers. This also applies to MDMA.

MDMA was originally synthesized with safrole oil which resulted in a product with a different R/S isomer balance than today’s MDMA synthesized with PMK-glycidate. The end result is the same chemical, but the difference in R/S isomer balances makes a huge difference in effect. This is why oldheads who claim “ecstasy used to be better” are actually on to something, they haven’t simply “lost the magic”. Safrole-based MDMA resulted in a much better roll that would last all night, in many cases.

This brings me to my question: is anyone still making the stuff? Even in small-batches? Has anyone scored some of the elusive “oldschool MDMA” recently, and can confirm it was made with safrole? I’d love to know if it’s still around.
