The up and coming newspaper, The Independent pulls down their latest issue due to significant misprints and misleading information.
The Independent published an article, written by an anonymous member, alleging that the Radical Socialist Party is in talks with the current governing coalition. It says that the party is talking with the Labour Party about a possible entry into the coalition government and also states that they are suspected to be in a discussion with the Liberal Democrats.
An article regarding the Secularisation Bill was also printed twice in the newspaper, among some other minor misprints and misformatting.
/u/Dynamic_12, the Editor of the Independent, removed the issue from public, with this statement which followed an hour later:
The Independent would like to sincerely apologise to both the RSP and the Government for misleading the public and the anonymous source is being investigated internally. The internal investigation is likely to last for quite a long time as we have to thoroughly investigate to ensure we can confidently conclude with the correct decision. The Editors: /u/dynamic_12, /u/Imperial_ and /u/PetrosAC shall carry out the entirety of this investigation and would greatly appreciate cooperation from anyone to ensure this is a good investigation.
On the misleading information included in this issue, the Prime Minister, /u/RachelChamberlain said that the Radical Socialist Party being in talks with Labour about joining the government was "news to me".
Meanwhile, a representative from the Radical Socialist Party, /u/NicolasBroaddus also denied the allegations, saying that talks between his party and the government are "entirely false". He also criticised /u/TheyEatThePoo for "slandering" the RSP in his article following his departure.
